We, the many people connected to BIGGEST LOSER, just enjoyed a wonderful week of VIPER activities. It started with the Workout Like a Viper practice during which, I must say, the contestants of BIGGEST LOSERS showed major perseverance, willingness to try something new and some awesome basketball talent. Tonight, we attended the final Viper game of the season.
By 7:00 p.m., when the game started, I had eaten a grand total of 1 mini bagel, a string cheese and an apple. With 3 events in 3 weeks, our office has been a little hectic – our Daily Cricket is even the Sleepy Cricket tonight because this is my first chance to create it. I did try to be prepared today for dinner… I packed my lunch which remained at the office while I attended meetings. Fast-forward to the basketball game where the healthy food options were fairly limited, though I did get some popcorn which I still say, arguably, was the best choice. So, now come the post-game dilemmas… at 9:30 p.m. if you have not eaten nearly enough calories but are, surprisingly, not hungry, what do you do? I’m researched a little on my own, the results of which you will see in tonight’s Sleepy Cricket, but I will also get clarification from Kitty:
Do I….
- Not eat anymore because I am not really hungry?
- Eat a light meal reasoning that something is better than nothing?
- Eat a regular healthy meal and just reset tomorrow?
For me the goal would be to (1) make a healthy choice and (2) make a weight-loss friendly choice, if that is possible in this case. So what do you think it should be?
I chose option 3 mostly because the thought of not getting my daily allowance of food was sad to me. I think that proves that my personal relationship with food still needs improvement, but I did choose a healthy meal and did only eat half so I’m giving myself credit for that.
Most importantly, I am not mad at myself. As we’ve said before, we need to look at the bad days we have and analyze what happened. For me, I knew I had a lot of meetings and a lunch cooler with a sandwich or wrap would have been a better option than the refrigerator lunch I had because I could have eaten on the road or out of the office between meetings. I also accept with my job and, I’m sure, with many of our schedules, a late-night meal from time to time is inevitable. So, this may be something that I face again. I will converse with Kitty to see what should be done in these situations, but after five weeks of learning and creating new habits, I want to know what you think?
I also appreciate you accepting a Sleepy Cricket today… with both my eating schedule and the Crickets, I will start anew tomorrow!
