Meet BIGGEST LOSER contestant Lynn Weaver!

By Lindsay Buchanan for SCNOW.com (FLORENCE) Lynn Weaver never struggled with weight before she had her two sons, ages 13 and 10. In fact, she loved to exercise and looked forward to it.

“I used to jog, go to the gym, do aerobics, but then I had kids, and that went out the window,” she said.

After years of allowing overeating and not exercising to take over her life, Weaver finally said enough was enough. When she heard about Florence’s Biggest Loser competition, she decided it sounded like a good way to jumpstart her new determination.

“Now I’m loving being back,” she said. “It’s like I want to do it because I remember what it was like before. I actually love to work out. I was a skinny girl that got big, and I want to get back to a healthy weight and feel good.”

Weaver said she and her family often go on vacation, and that’s when it really strikes her that she is not able to keep up with her family.

“I get tired of walking real easy and they’re running ahead of me,” she said. “I want to be able to keep up with them.”

In only the first three weeks of the Biggest Loser, Weaver already is seeing improvements.

“I used to run out of breath just getting out of the car or going back and forth to get groceries, and now I’m able to do much more,” she said. “They’re (Weaver’s family) noticing I’m getting on to them a lot more about their eating.”

Weaver’s own eating has definitely changed through the competition. A self-proclaimed overeater, she has been learning portion control and has also removed white bread and potatoes from her diet.

“I’ve noticed that if I eat several times a day, I’m not as hungry,” she said. “I’ve also noticed when I go to restaurants now, I’m looking for the plain meat with the vegetables instead of the ones covered in sauce and cheese.”

Overall, Weaver said she’s just so glad to be making changes in her life that are making her feel better – and her kids are benefitting, too.

“They’re glad I’m doing it, and now I’m taking them to the park on the weekends, and they play while I’m walking, and they’re liking that,” she said. “I’m going to keep this up. I’m determined.”
